Mr. Earl Edward Nealy, 69, died Sunday, August 24, 2008, at Morrison Manor.

A graveside service will be 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hillside Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Michael Waters.

He is survived by his wife, June Clark Nealy; one daughter, Elinda Turner and husband Michael of Laurinburg; one stepdaughter, June S. Hopkins and husband John of Laurinburg; two stepsons, Michael Clark and wife Wanda of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jim Clark of Laurinburg; one half sister, Bea Raduly of Shelby, NC; one grandson; Brandon Turner; three step grandchildren, Jennifer Hopkins, Kevin Hopkins and Tyson Clark; two step great grandchildren, Isabella Hopkins and Hunter Hopkins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Quick.

Born July 2, 1939 in Dillon County, SC, he was also a son of the late Edward and Myrtle Ward Nealy. Mr. Nealy served in the US Navy four years and was retired from Westpointe Stevens after 34 years in the maintenance department. He loved to spend time with family and friends and to be outdoors, especially fishing.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Scotland County, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353 or to the American Cancer Society, 11, South Boylan Ave., Raleigh, NC 27603.

Visitation will be 3 – 4 pm Tuesday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium followed by the graveside at the cemetery.
