Earl Thompson, Jr.

Earl “June Bug” Winborn Thompson , Jr., 78, of Troy passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional hospital.

Services will be private.

Born October 30, 1942 in Montgomery County, he is a son of the late Earl Winborn Thompson, Sr. and Pauline Dennis Thompson.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon Coggins Thompson of the home; daughters, Amy Hill and Kea T. Freeman of Troy; son, Jamie W. Thompson of Troy; sisters, Margaret Greene, Dorothy Lee, Linda Thompson, and Darlene Thompson of Troy, and Nancy Lamonds of Asheboro; brothers, Randy Thompson of Hickory, Roger Thompson and Dennis Thompson of Troy; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Earl W. Thompson, III, and his brother Jerry Thompson.
