Dortha Josephine Pounders Williams, 88, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 at Morrison Manor.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Hillside Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Opie Swails.  Due to COVID-19, please practice social distancing.

Born, August 28, 1933 in Whitfield County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Louie and Geniva Jones Pounders.  She was a homemaker and loved her family and all of her grandbabies.

She is survived by her children, Peggy Cole and her husband, Steven of Laurinburg and Brian Mabe and his wife, Jeannie of Maiden, NC; her brothers and sisters, Paul Pounders of Anderson, SC, Shirley Dameron of Clinton, TN, Betty Richmond of Powell, TN, Alma Ivey of Clinton, TN, and Jerry Disney of Norfolk, VA; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy” Ray Williams; her children, Steven Mabe and Lisa Michelle Mabe; and her sister and brother, JoAnn Grey and David Disney.
