Dorothy (Parsons) Baldwin

Dorothy Parsons Baldwin, 94, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Richmond County Hospice in Rockingham.

A graveside service will be held Monday, December 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Jessie Carpenter. The family will receive friends following the service.

Born May 19, 1928, in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late Alex and Faye Byrd Parsons. Dorothy was a graduate of Mt. Gilead High School. She enjoyed listening to Bluegrass and Gospel singings.  Her hobbies were gardening and tending to her flowers.

She is survived by her sons, Robert "Chunk" McLendon (Linda) and Bobby McLendon (Jan), both of Mt. Gilead; grandchildren, Dan McLendon, David McLendon (Nancy), Gary McLendon (Nikki), all of Mt. Gilead, and Kevin McLendon (Jessica) of Candor; and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray McLendon.
