Doris Carolyn (Peele) Morton

Doris Carolyn Peele Morton, 83, passed away, Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Morrison Manor.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium Chapel, with Rev. Harry Clark and Rev. Ronnie Norton officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. -3:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.

Born on February 12, 1941, in Scotland County, to the late Thomas Charles Peele and Addie Clark Peele Morton; step father Dennis Morton. Doris spent her working years at Abbott Laboratory, where she was well-regarded for her diligence and attention to detail as an assembler.  She was an avid bowler, and she played softball for many years. Yet, perhaps her greatest joy was found in the simple pleasure of caring for her family, a role she embraced with the entirety of her heart and soul. She is survived by her two sons, Frankie Morton, Jr. (Bobbie Jo) of Marston, and Myron Morton (Lisa) of Morven; her brother, Harold Peele (Patsy) of Laurinburg; and her sister, Ruby Carnahan of San Antonio, TX. Doris was a grandmother to Tabitha, Brandon, Joshua, Christopher, and Jody. Her role as a grandmother was one, she cherished deeply, and the bond she shared with each of her grandchildren was unique and special. She also rejoiced in the presence of her great-grandchildren, who brought additional light and love. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe Peele and John Peele; sisters, Martha McDaniel, Bonnie Jean Nemerov, and Margie Medlock. Doris's absence will be profoundly felt by her family, who find comfort in the countless memories and the enduring impact she had on their lives.
