Doris (Mcgee) Douglas

Doris McGee Gibson Douglas, 86, of Laurinburg passed away on October 19, 2020.

A private graveside service was held at Hillside Cemetery on October 21, 2020.

She was an active member of the church, a dedicated volunteer in her community and a recipient of the NC Governor's Volunteer Service Award.  She was active in Scotland County Parks and Recreation as past club president of Young at Heart and advisory committee member.  She was founder of the Scotland Community Health Clinic, which provides healthcare for uninsured adults in Scotland County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, K.C. and Mary McGee and brother, Wilton McGee.  She is survived by her children, Charles Wendell Gibson and Melba Gibson.

The family would like to thank Lorenzo (Tony) and Marian (Dee) Cole for the kindness shown to Doris during the last years of her life. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org).
