Mr. Donald Howard McQueen, Jr, 90, of 526 Everette Street died Tuesday, January 5, at the Edwin Morgan Center.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church officiated by the Revs. Nick Mager and Elizabeth Forrester.
He is survived by is wife, Loma McLaurin McQueen; two sons, Dr. Donald McQueen and his wife, Ivey of Rock Hill, SC; Dr. Jim McQueen and his wife, Linda of Laurinburg; a sister, Mary Currie of High Point; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer McQueen (Mrs. Ed) Ash of Chester, SC, Audrey McQueen (Mrs. Randy) Fulp of Charlotte, John McQueen of Charlotte, Jason McQueen of Houston, TX, Emily McQueen of Laurinburg, Tracie Thomas and Madison Shaw of Rock Hill, SC.
Born September 12, 1908 in Maxton, NC, he attended Davidson College and was a US Army veteran of World War II. He was retired as vice president and secretary of the Wade S. Dunbar Insurance Agency and was a board member of Scotland Saving & Loan Assn., now Scotland Savings Bank. Donald was also a former member of the Laurinburg Lions Club and a former deacon at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 p.m. Wednesday at the residence.
