Donald "Don" Edward Hamilton

Donald “Don” Edward Hamilton, 71, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at home.

Don’s family will receive friends Monday, June 20, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service.

Don was born in Montgomery County on August 20, 1950 to the late Donald Lee and Mary Alice Blake Hamilton.  He was the owner/operator of Hamilton’s BBQ for many years and loved cooking barbeque for others to enjoy.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.  Don especially loved wood crafting, the farm life and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Phyllis Carol Gay Hamilton of the home; his son, Clifton David Hamilton (Jill) of Bend, OR; his daughter, Christy “Lainie” Hamilton (Clint Shedrick) of Smithfield, NC; his brothers, Wayne Lee Hamilton (Denise) and Tony Blake Hamilton (Kathy) both of Four Oaks, NC and Richard Bruce Hamilton (Lori) of Smithfield, NC; his sister, Melanie McCullen of Smithfield; and grandchildren, Zachary Tyler Pleasant and Emily Ann Pleasant.

The family suggest memorials be made to Community Homecare and Hospice, 1024 Albemarle Road, Troy, NC 27371.
