Donald Lewis Clear, 90 of Laurinburg, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the McDougald Funeral Home Bumgarner Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Richard Tyson and sharing memories, the Rev. Terry Smith and Rev. Bill Rose. The family will receive friends following the service.
Born March 1, 1928 in Cheboygan County, Michigan, he was a son of the late Forna and Artie Forgette Clear. He served in the United States Army before establishing his own plumbing business. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his daughters, Ann Thomas (Richard) of Laurinburg, Donna Close (Ron) of Goldsboro, Linda Wilcox (Jerry) of Pikeville, and Nancy McPeek of Fremont; sisters, Marie Lennox and Alice Sowles (Richard) both of Punta Gorda, FL and Gloria Clear of Michigan; Fifteen grandchildren and Nineteen great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50+ years, Lula Clear, brother, Charlie Clear and his daughter, Marie Kerner.
