Dolores Ford Newsome, 83, formerly of Laurinburg passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at her home.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Neal Carter. A visitation will follow in the fellowship hall.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; her sons, Les Newsome of Laurinburg and Ron Newsome of Derby; her daughter, Rhonda Muelling of Madison, WI; her brother, Henry Ford of Roanoke Rapids; her sister, Henrietta "Susie" Maus of Williamsburg, VA; two grandchildren.
Born March 3, 1930 in Guilford County, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Mildred Forbis Ford. She attended East Carolina University and served as a teacher's assistant for the Vance County Head Start and the Scotland County Schools. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and was an avid square dancer.
