Dewey William Talley

Dewey William Talley, 79, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022 at his home.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Rev. Brian Workman. Burial will be private at the family Talley Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Due to Covid-19, all attendees are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing when possible.

Born May 21, 1942 in Macon County, he was the son of the late Harry and Fannie Watson    Talley. Dewey loved his family, and his grandchildren. They were very important to him. He loved hunting, the mountains, and busting wood. Dewey also like to putt around on his ranger.

He is survived by his daughters, Lahoma Workman (Brian) of Denton and Audrey Allen (Darrin) of Star ; sons, Doug “Spook” Hissim (Jane) of Troy, Dale “Spock” Hissim (Deanna) of Wallburg, Josh Talley (Samantha), and William Gregory Talley, both of Troy; sisters, Janice Lemonds of Troy, Evelyn Dennis of the home, and Carolyn Talley of Asheboro; grandchildren, Timmothy Joe Allen, Michael Allen (Patricia), Patrick Hissim, Casey Hissim, Travis Hissim, Benjamin Workman (Anna), Kyanna Workman, Harper Talley, and Avett Talley; and great-grandchildren, Bryson Allen, Taylor Allen, Cameron Allen, Jacob Allen, Sailor Workman, and Declan Workman.  He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Lily Mae Cochran Talley; son, Sheldon Talley; sister, Linda Sparkman; and grandson, Isaac Workman.
