Deborah "Debby" Craven Johnson

Deborah Craven Johnson, 71, lovingly known as Debby, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025 at her home in Biscoe.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Biscoe Cemetery, officiated by Rev. David Beck.

Debby was born on December 20, 1953 in Troy, North Carolina to the late John and Julia Simpson Craven. A lifelong nurturer and educator, Debby dedicated her career to teaching where she spent many years shaping the minds and hearts of countless children. Even after her retirement, her love for caring for both children and animals continued to shine through in everything she did. Whether she was knitting, sewing, or simply lending a listening ear, Debby brought comfort, warmth, and encouragement to everyone around her.

Debby was known for her unwavering kindness, her quick wit, and her deep capacity to love. She was the kind of person who always showed up; ready to support, cheer you on, or make a quiet sacrifice for the people she cared about. Her sense of humor, generosity, and deeply compassionate spirit made a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her memory will continue to live on through the many lives she touched with her patience, laughter, and grace.

She is preceded in death by her brother, John Craven. She is survived by her sons, Chase and Tyler; daughter-in-law, Katie; granddaughter, Tinley. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Lemonds; brother-in-law, Harvey Lemonds; sister, Kaye Bobbitt; countless nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Annabelle.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service in Troy.
