David "Sammy" Greene

David Samuel “Sammy” Greene, 67, made his last cast on December 8, 2019 at his residence.

A graveside service will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Parsons Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Vanessa McIntyre and Rev. Milton Haywood.

Born June 6, 1952 in Franklin County, he is a son of David Junior Greene of Troy and the late Betsy Holmes Greene.  He retired as a supervisor after 30 plus years from Klaussner Industries and later became a truck driver for Quik Chek and Abercrombie Fuels.  Sammy had a big heart for helping people and he loved his nieces and nephews.  He loved to fish and one of his last requests was to go fishing one time in his memory.

In addition to his father he is survived by one brother, Jeffery Blaine Greene, Sr. of Troy; two sisters. Deanne G. Brown (Kelsey) of Troy and Carolyn G. Rector of Rockingham.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeannie Diane Beane Greene and sister, Teresa Ann Greene.
