David Eldridge Pack "Packman", 57, of Troy passed away peacefully at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital on Saturday, February 22, 2025. He was surrounded by his immediate family and church family at the time of his death.
Pastor Richard Lynthacum shared the loyalty of David in his attendance at church, so at David's request, there will be a celebration of life on Sunday, March 2,2025 at his home church at Troy Pentecostal Holiness Church in Troy at 11:00 a.m.
Born June 27, 1967, in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late James and Brenda Saunders Pack. "Packman", as David liked to be called, continued his love for sports until his passing. He was well known for his love of athletics at West Montgomery High School. "Packman" impacted the football team from the time he entered the doors as a freshman. He also broke a record or two during his weightlifting endeavors. "Packman" always wanted to talk about "the good 'ole days' with anyone willing to relive some of his favorite memories. From childhood to adulthood, David had a love for boxing. He often boxed with his brother, Jamie, as kids, but stayed intrigued with the sport as he watched it on television every chance he could!
David was a big man with a gentle soul. He loved to talk and engage with people everywhere he went. He was a gentle giant in many ways to his friends, family and colleagues alike. Any time spent with family, friends, or church family were special times for him. Over the years, David grew to love God and developed a relationship with Him. During his travels back and forth to doctors and hospitals, he shared his faith in God. He spent much time in conversation and discussion about his Godly relationship with his lifelong friend and Pastor Richard Lynthacum.
He is survived by his daughters; Cady Pack of Troy and May McRae Reeder of Asheboro; brother, Jamie Pack of Mt. Gilead; sister, Gracia Pack of Troy; nephews, Cody Walker and Austin Pack, both of Troy; nieces, Olivia Goodwin of Biscoe and Ashlyn Pack Greene of Troy.
