David Greene

David Junior Greene, 90, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at his daughter’s home in Rockingham.

A funeral service will be Friday, January 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Hickory Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiated by Rev. Joe Beane and Doug Shuff. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, please practice social distancing and wear a mask or another form of face covering.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.  Attendance will be monitored.

Born April 5, 1930 in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late William Maston and Ada Campbell Greene.  He was Owner/Operator of Greene’s Mobile Parts and a member of Hickory Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church.  Mr. Greene loved fishing and gardening.

He is survived by one son, Jeffery Blaine Greene, Sr. of Troy; two daughters, Deanne G. Brown (Kelsey) of Troy and Carolyn G. Rector (Bugs) of Rockingham; one brother, Marshall Greene of Randleman; grandchildren, Jeffrey Blaine Greene, Jr. (Brandi) of Denton, Josh Rector (Brittnie) of Mechanicsville, VA, Tosha Lamonds of Troy, Alex Lemons (Emily) of Chambersburg, PA, Brittany Monroe (Jeremy) of Robbins, and Lauren Brown of Raleigh; great grandchildren, Colton Greene, Aubri Greene, Aiden Capel, Lyla Monroe, Chase Lemons, Dawson Monroe and Emma Lemons.  He is preceded in death by wife, Betsy Holmes Greene; two children; David Samuel “Sammy” Greene and Teresa Greene; twelve brothers and sisters.
