David Raymond Creger

David Raymond Creger, age 63, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, following a long illness. He transitioned at home, surrounded by family.

David was born on January 12, 1962, in Presque Isle, Maine, to parents Howard Raymond Creger and Carolyn Rose Phillips.

He was a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend. Professionally, David dedicated 36 years as General Manager of Colonial LP Gas, where he worked late hours and winter weekends to ensure that Montgomery County stayed warm. David also spent many days and nights with the Troy Fire Department. His unwavering commitment to the Department was eventually recognized with the title of Assistant Chief. Through his children, David was also a leader in both Boy Scouts and various youth sports. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and providing a loving home for countless Labrador Retrievers.

His generosity knew no bounds, and he was always the first to offer support without expecting anything in return. He will be remembered and sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kim Gaddy Creger of the home; his sons, Nathan Riley Creger (Juan) of McAllen, TX, Benjamin David Creger (Grace) of Star, NC, and Logan Andrew Jordan (Jade) of Asheboro, NC; his sister, Christine Creger Clapp (Richard) of Julian, NC; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and a yellow Labrador named Merle. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Catherine Ann (Creger) Ferrell.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Troy Fire Department.
