Daniel Neill Shaw

Mr. Daniel Neill Shaw, Sr., 67, of 21081 Jane Shaw Road died Monday, May 21, at Duke University Medical Center.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Montpelier Presbyterian Church officiated by the Revs. Homer Phifer and Jim Johns. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Born February 9, 1934 in Scotland County, Mr. Shaw was the son of the late Edwin and Jane McKay Shaw. He was fire chief for the North Scotland Fire Department and was a member of the Scotland and Hoke County Fire Associations. He was also a member of Montpelier Presbyterian Church and served as the Moderator of the session and Sunday School Superintendent. He served as a Scotland County Commissioner for many years and was the owner of Shaw Trucking Company.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Calhoun Shaw; a son, Neill Shaw and his wife, Marie of Wagram; a daughter, Lyle Shaw of Wagram; two sisters, Mrs. Bill (Ann) Hunter of High Point; and Mrs. Gordon (Catherine) Perry of Tifton, GA; a brother, Sandy Shaw of Chadbourn; and 1 grandson, Daniel Neill Shaw, III.
