Dale L. Bass

Dale L. Bass, age 46, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium Chapel, officiated by Rev. Richard Tyson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Born on September 20, 1979, in Scotland County, North Carolina, he was a son of Charlie Grayson Giddens and Katie Bass both of Laurinburg. A beloved son, father, and brother, Dale's life was characterized by his deep love for family and his joyful spirit.

A fan of the television show Dragon Ball Z, Dale found enjoyment in the adventures of his favorite characters, a passion that was reflective of his own high-spirited approach to life. His fondness for fishing brought him immense happiness, particularly those moments spent by the water with his son, Brayden. Fishing was more than just a hobby for Dale; it was a way for him to bond with loved ones and create lasting memories with his family and his nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Dale is survived by his son, Brayden Lynn Bass of Laurinburg; his sisters, Gracie Bass (Mickey Oxendine) of Laurinburg, and Susan DeLaRosa (O'mar DeLaRosa) of Ft. Worth, TX; Gracie's children—Dakota Bass, Grayson Oxendine, Asher Oxendine, Makayla Hall, Ginsey Locklear, Joshua Locklear, Noah Oxendine, Nautica Oxendine and Nakyia Oxendine; and Susan’s child—Makayla DeLaRosa.

As we remember Dale, we celebrate not just his life but also the love he shared with those around him. His warmth, laughter, and dedication to his family will be deeply missed and cherished by all who knew him.
