Craig Franklin Hunt, passed away on July 29, 2024, at the age of 67, at Scotland Memorial Hospital.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Born on October 2, 1956, in Baltimore County, MD, he was a son of the late William Franklin Hunt and Barbara Ann Hunt Grooms. Craig had an unwavering dedication to his family, a passion for the outdoors, and a spirit of generosity that touched the lives of many.
Craig was known for his friendly demeanor and kind heart. He never met a stranger and had the ability to make anyone feel like a friend. His generous nature was evident in the times he extended a helping hand to those in need. Craig's love for animals was particularly profound, and he was a huge dog lover, often seen with a furry companion by his side. His interests were as diverse as they were engaging. He was an avid fisherman, and he coached Parks and Recreation Baseball. Craig's zest for life extended to the great outdoors, where he found joy in camping and visiting the mountains. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy Diane Hulon Hunt of the home; his daughter, Aimee Chance of Laurinburg, his grandchildren, Miranda Hope Chance (Colton) and Jamie Craig Chance (Brooke); and his siblings, Pamela Ann Ferguson of Gibson, Eric Dean Hunt (Margie) of Wakulla, Valerie Dawn Hunt (Wade) of Laurinburg, and Christopher Scott Hunt (Michelle) of Aberdeen; and his stepfather, Harold Grooms of Gibson. He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, James Chance, and sibling, Terry David Hunt.
