Mrs. Cora Lee Griffin Herndon, 87, died Tuesday, October 22, at Britthaven in Hamlet, NC.
A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at McDougald Funeral Home in Laurel Hill with the Rev. Donnie Meetze and Rev. Lou Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
Born June 9, 1915 in Moultrie, GA she was the daughter of William Luther and Mattie Ivey Griffin. She was retired from Hanes Hosiery in Winston Salem where she lived for 36 years before returning to the Laurel Hill area.
She is survived by four brothers, William F. Griffin of Rockingham; Floyd Griffin of Hamlet; Ray W. Griffin of Clio, SC; Paul Griffin of High Point; two sisters, Lois Stewart of Charlotte and Molly McGowan of High Point. She was predeceased by her husband Clayton Herndon in December of 1985.
