Mrs. Coleen Grace Bridgeman Carmichael, 80 , of Old Lumberton Road, died Friday, October 20, at Morrison Manor.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Laurinburg Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Neal Carter and Rev. Elizabeth Forester. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, McColl, SC.

She is survived by two sons, Stuart A. Carmichael of Laurinburg and Frank Carmichael of Manteo, NC; one daughter, Jenny C. Minnick of Laurinburg; two brothers, Jim Bridgeman of Spartanburg, SC and Joe Bridgeman of Greenville, SC; three sisters, Jenny Locke of Boiling Springs Lake, NC, Ila Dood Petrosi of McColl, SC and Mrs. Harold Boots Smith of Clio, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Allen Carmichael.

Mrs. Carmichael was born September 5, 1926 in Spartanburg, SC, the daughter of the late Erwin W. and Stella Love Bridgeman. She attended McColl High School and the University of South Carolina and Western Carolina. She was a teacher of music and a substitute teacher with the Scotland County School system for many years. Mrs. Carmichael also taught in the Virginia School System.

Memorials may be made to the Laurinburg Presbyterian Church, 600 West Church St., Laurinburg, NC 28352 or to Hospice of Scotland County, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium in Laurinburg, NC.
