Mr. Claude Vernon Medlin, 81, died Monday, October 15, at his home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Ralph Brown. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Pot Whittle Medlin; five sons, Michael T. Terry of Raleigh, Claude V. Medlin, Jr. of Raleigh; J. Lynn Medlin of Tabor City, Randy E. Medlin of Laurinburg, and James K. Medlin of Rockingham; a daughter, Deborah M. Mason of Red Oak; a brother, Jack W. Medlin of Archdale, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane M. Comer in 1991 and a sister, Marie Rider in 2001.
Born February 17, 1926 in Guilford County, he was a son of the late George V. and Elsie Atkins Medlin. Claude served with the US Navy in World war II and began Claude V. Medlin Building Contractors in 1954.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 101 W. Church St., Laurinburg, NC 28352.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
