Charles M. Parker

Charles M. Parker, 80 of Laurinburg, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 27, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

A funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Michael Malpass and the Rev. Harry Clark. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Born November 6, 1937 in Robeson County, NC, he was the son of late Crawford Shalor and Ruby Royals Parker whom preceded him in death. Charles was a meat cutter and was employed at Kenny’s Superette of Laurinburg, McNairs and finally Big Star. He attended New Hope Baptist Church in Laurinburg, NC. He also served in the National Guard. He liked hunting and restoring old tractors, especially Ford tractors and his favorite yard friend was named Casey.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Nassif Parker of the home; daughter, Jennifer Parker Taylor and husband Ricky of Laurinburg; sons, Charles Allen Parker, and Michael Lynn Parker and wife Debbie both of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Richard Lee Taylor and wife Laurin, Cody Allen Parker and Michael Christopher Parker; great grandchild, Carmen Leigh Taylor; and a brother, Crawford Shalor Parker and wife Wanda of York, VA. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Eulas Parker and James Thomas Parker.

A visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday July 30, 2018 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at the church.
