Charles M. "Charlie" Elliott, 79, died Friday, July 16, at Morrison Manor.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. C. F. McDowell, III. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Manuel Elliott; a son, Larry Elliott of Port St. John, FL; a daughter, Gay Andersen of Charlotte; a step-son, Michael Manuel of Maxton; two step-daughters, Cindy Beagle of Sunset Beach and Kristie Dilling of Laurinburg; three sisters, Violet Turner of Dillon, Maxine Patrick of Oak Island, and Alene Rogers of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren, Chad Elliott of Orlando, FL, Jennifer Elliott of Portland, OR, and Lauren Andersen of Charlotte.
Born December 16, 1930 in Scotland County, he was a son of the late John Hugh and Bertha McAbee Elliott. Charlie was the last surviving charter member of the Scotland County Rescue Squad and joined the Laurinburg Fire Department as a volunteer fireman in 1959.
He was also a salesman for City Autos Ford-Mercury in Laurinburg and later McLaurin-McArthur Chevrolet-Olds in Laurinburg. He was also an active member of the First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
