Charles Jesse Quick, 79, of Old Johns Road died Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at his home.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Friday at the East Laurinburg Church of God officiated by the Rev. Jeff McGirt. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Catherine Strickland Quick; two sons, Rodney Quick and wife, Nita of Laurinburg and Greg Quick and wife, Melanie of Newtown, PA; a sister, Marjorie Brigman of Laurinburg; five grandchildren, Megan Locklear and husband Johnathan, Rod, C. J., Gregory, and Gracie; and one great grandchild, Wyatt Locklear.

He was born July 6, 1930 in Robeson County and was a son of the late Claude Quick and Edna Lindsey Davis. He served in the US Army from 1952-53 and for thirty five years worked in textiles, retiring from West Point/Stevens. Jessie enjoyed working in his yard and fishing.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
