Charles "Gib" Gilbert Warner

Charles “Gib” Gilbert Warner, 83, of Troy, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Atrium Health of Stanly in Albemarle.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Prospect Baptist Church, 2889 River Rd., Troy, officiated by Rev. Lee Fish. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.

Born April 15, 1940, in Montgomery County, he was the son of the late E.C. and Nell Gillis Warner. Through the years, Gib was a volunteer fireman for the Lake Tillery Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and piddling in the yard. He loved his dogs and being outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine Zorbino Filippelli Warner of the home; sister, Sandy Warner Saunders of Albemarle; step-daughter, Heather Hall of HI; step-sons, Thomas Filippelli of Mt. Pleasant, and Nick Filippelli of Troy; three step-grandchildren; nieces, Jennifer Saunders and Stacey Saunders; and cousins, Patricia Decker and Joseph Warner.
