Charles Lacy (Charlie) Scott

Charles Lacey Scott passed away August 7, 2013 at the age of 88 in Laurinburg North Carolina.
He grew up in Hamlet, North Carolina and graduated from Broughton High School in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was a WWII veteran and a proud Marine surviving the Pacific conflicts in Okinawa and Iwo Jima Japan. He completed his college education at N.C. State University and was a proud Wolfpack supporter. He retired from the State of Virginia as an inspector for the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. He was also a retired volunteer fire fighter in Henrico County Virginia before returning to his home state of North Carolina. He was very dedicated to his church community and provided time and financial support to many charities. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith Gray Scott and his granddaughter Jessica Scott Lester.
He is survived by three sons their wives and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. His son Charlie Scott Jr. and his wife Debbie of Atlanta, Gary Scott and his wife Jeanne of Shipman, VA, Dale Scott and his Wife Renee' of Richmond, VA.
Memorial services will be handled by McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium and will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 12 at Scotia Village, Laurinburg, NC.
