Celia Comer Haywood, 67, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Atrium Health Stanly.

A private graveside service will be held Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Haywood Family Cemetery with Tony Sedberry officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, please practice social distancing and wear a face mask or another form of face covering. For those attending, please bring a lawn chair.

Celia was born September 17, 1953 in Killeen, Texas. She was a daughter of the late Melvin and Doris Hall Comer. Celia was a homemaker as well as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed sewing, camping in the mountains, canning, and especially loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Tilman Haywood of the home; son, Rodney Haywood (Tiffany); daughter, Jessie Whittington (Lance); grandchildren, Ayrika Smith (Caleb), Ashlyn Hill (Kenneth), Peanut Grant (Duncan), Chance Whittington (Josie), Chase Whittington, Natalie Haywood, Anna Haywood and Jase Haywood; great-grandchildren, Sweet Pea Grant, Clyde Smith, Cleo Smith, Jolie Hill, and John Daniel Hill.  She is preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Scott Haywood.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 103, Troy, NC 27371.
