Catherine Deaton Walters, 64, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at her home.
A graveside service will be 4:00 p.m. Friday at Hillside Memorial Park officiated by the Rev. Opie Swails.
She is survived by her son, Art Walters (Timeri) of Laurinburg; her daughter, Christie Lowery (Kevin) of Laurinburg; brothers, John Deaton of Rocky Mount, George Deaton and James Deaton, both of Laurinburg, and Charles Deaton of Lufkin, Texas; sisters, Connie Chavis of Wake Forest and Linda Underwood of Laurinburg; and grandchildren, Jonathan Walters, Justyn Walters and Bentley Lowery.
Born November 7, 1947 in Laurinburg, N.C., she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Annie Huckabee Deaton. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Fairley Deaton, and sisters, Ruby Kirkley, Betty Early and Louise Scott.
Catherine enjoyed working in her yard and cleaning. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was always consistent with putting others first before herself.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
