It is with profound sadness and unmeasurable love that we announce the passing of Catherine Ann Wallace Johnson of Laurinburg, NC on July 5, 2026.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium Chapel, officiated by Rev. Legrande Taylor and Pastor Eddie McLean. A visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.

Born on August 30, 1948 in Laurinburg, NC, to Maggie and James Wallace. Catherine “Cat”, lived a life defined by her unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She enjoyed 22 years of dedicated employment at Golf Pride Eaton Corporation in shipping and receiving.

 Outside of her professional life, Cat found enjoyment being surrounded by family and friends. She found pleasure in taking trips to the beach, spending time with, and cooking for everyone. She was known for her fierce loyalty, and caring for others 

Throughout her cancer journey, Cat faced every challenge its extraordinary courage, determination, and grace. Her strength, faith, and optimism inspired everyone around her. Her sharp wit and vivacious personality are unmatched! 

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jimmy D. Johnson, Sr., her children; Jimmy Johnson, Jr. and Chris Johnson (Tanya), her grandchildren; Kellianne Johnson, Maggie Baysinger (Andrew), Katelyn Currie, and Jamie Johnson, and her great grandchildren; Jordan Johnson (Lillianna), Mariah Jones, Madalyn Johnson, and Joseph Baysinger. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Maggie Wallace; brothers, Morris Currie, James “Buddy” Wallace; and sister, Betty Haux. The family will receive friends and family at their home on 17520 McFarland Rd., Laurinburg, NC 28352 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to Scotland County Regional Hospice, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
