Catherine Cooper Allen, 62, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, June 12, at Central United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Dr. Bobby Dean. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
Born April 18, 1954 in Scotland County, she was a daughter of Myra Seawell Cooper and the late Franklin D. Cooper. She was a graduate of Richmond Community College and UNC Pembroke where she majored in Nursing. She was a former instructor in the LPN program at Richmond Community College.
Catherine loved collecting clowns and dolls.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her mother, Myra S. Cooper of Laurinburg; daughter, Maggie Smith of Washington, DC; son, Jerry Wayne Smith, Jr. of Fayetteville; brothers, Del Cooper of Pembroke, Jeffrey Cooper, Sr. and Charles Cooper, both of Laurinburg; sister Grace Cooper of Madison, WI; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium and other times at the residence of her mother at 763 Fairly St. Apt. 7 Laurinburg, NC.
