Carrie Mae Smith McDonald, 110, died Tuesday, August 30, 2005, at the home of her niece in Laurinburg, NC.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday in Midway Presbyterian Church officiated by Dr. Rodger Decker with burial in McLean Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home of Dillon, SC.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Fellowship Hall of Midway Presbyterian Church.

Born in Dillon County, December 4, 1894, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Chesley Smith and Lona Frank Ritter Smith. She was a faithful member of Midway Presbyterian Church where she joined in 1912 and was a Sunday School Teacher, graduate of Applachian College, was a Public School Teacher, and was the oldest of 8 children.

Survivors include her step grandchildren, Nan McDonald Turner of Laurinburg, NC and Walker Richardson of Richmond, VA; a host of nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews; she made her home with her niece, Margaret Sue Wilkes in Laurinburg, NC.
