Mrs. Carolyn Coble Currie, 49, of 7741 Old Wire Road, died Sunday, November 14, 1999 at Duke Medical Center.


Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church with Rev. Douglass Key officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.


Born in Scotland County on June 5, 1950, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Coble. An account receivable manager for Rostra Precision Control, Carolyn was a former employee with Abbott Laboratories. She attended Old Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church. Active in the community she was a member of the Scottish Twirlers Square Dance Club, the Abbott Bowling League and a member of the Laurinburg Cancer Center Support Group.


Carolyn is survived by her husband, Dennis W. Currie, Sr. of the home, a son, Dennis W. Currie, Jr. and wife Robin of Laurel Hill; her mother, Reba L. Coble of Laurinburg; two sisters, Patricia Ann Caulder and her husband Buddy of Hamlet, and Brenda Joyce Brazelton of Laurinburg; three brothers Thomas Wayne Coble and wife Mary of Rockingham, William Tommy Coble and wife Alice of Charlotte and Harry Coble and Wife Barbara of Rockingham; a grandchild, Katelyn Elizabeth Currie of Laurel Hill; her mother-in-law, Julia Louise Currie of Laurinburg and a brother-in-law, Richard Arnold Currie of Laurinburg.


The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium in Laurinburg.
