Carolyn Deaton Auman

Carolyn Jean Deaton Auman, age 84, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 10 2026, at 2:00 PM at the First Wesleyan Church in Troy, officiated by Pastor Ed Lindsey. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 1:00 - 2:00 PM.

Born February 18, 1942, in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late Farley and Lanie Batten Deaton. Carolyn is remembered as a devoted servant of her faith and community, having dedicated over 50 years to teaching Sunday school at the First Wesleyan Church, where she currently held the role of Adult Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer of the Wesleyan Women. Her passion for nurturing the young minds of her church community was evident in her role as an aide to kindergarteners at the church for more than 12 years. As well as her devotion to the church, Carolyn had been employed and retired from Centel Telephone Company in the business office, with 39 years of service.

The love of her church family and a committed follower of her Lord, Carolyn created lasting bonds through her unwavering faith and dedication to service. She touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 36 years, Noah Robert "Bobby" Auman, of the home. She is preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Wright.
