Carole (Connally) Biggs

Carole Connally Biggs, 95, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Morrison Manor.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Bobby Tyson.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  Due to COVID-19, masks are suggested and please practice social distancing.

Born March 25, 1926 in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late George and Essie Woodruff Connally.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Carole was the nurse for Dr. George Creed for many years and was one of the original nurses in the intensive care unit when it was formed at the old Scotland County Hospital. Even though she did not particularly care for football she accompanied her husband, W.L. to many Wake Forest games. She was an avid reader and in her later years when her sight was impaired enjoyed listening to books on tape. Carole enjoyed a wide circle of friends, many whom she first met when she moved to Laurinburg in 1947.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Roberts (Frank) of Hope Mills; granddaughters Molly (Josh) Follweiler of Bethlehem, PA and Paige (Devin) Adair of Knightdale, NC; and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, W.L. Biggs, III; her son, W.L. “Rusty” Biggs, IV; her brother, Steve Connally; and her sister, Glyn Petree. The family would like to thank Carolina Hearts Home Care and her caregivers Hilda, Shirley, Myra, Regina, Jennifer and Mary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 101 West Church Street, Laurinburg, NC 28352 or the NC Library for the Blind, c/o Friends of the NCLBPH, 1841 Capital Blvd., Raleigh, NC 27635.
