Mr. Carlton Ellis Wright, 77, of 400 s. Turnpike Road died Wednesday, June 4, at his residence.

A funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Laurel Hill United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Keith Brown. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Barrington Wright; one daughter, Nancy Tremblay of Lumberton; two sisters, Hazel Mills of Laurinburg and Pauline Russell of Aberdeen; one grandson, Austin Tremblay.

Born September 12, 1925 in Buies Creek, NC, he was a son of the late Norman M. and Tempia Milligan Wright. He served in the US Army Engineers in World War II and was a supervisor for Morgan Mills, which later became Springs Mills and later J.P. Stevens. He retired in 1988 after 35 years. He was an active member of the Laurel Hill United Methodist Church.
