Mr. Carl Stevens, Jr., 79, of 109 Washington Ave., died Tuesday, April 25, in Scotland Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM in McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel with Rev. Wil I. Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife; Mary Paul Stevens of the home; four sons, Johnny Stevens of Laurinburg, Larry P. Stevens of Aberdeen, C. Michael Stevens of Laurinburg, and Donald Phillip Stevens of Gibson. Eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren also survive him.

Born October 2, 1920 in Scotland County, he was the son of the late Carl and Carrie Zachary Stevens. A member of the First United Methodist Church, Mr. Stevens served in the US Army. Owner and operator of Stevens Esso/Exxon Station, Carl was known throughout the community as a master repairer of small engines and lawn mowers.

The family will receive friends today (Thursday) from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
