Carl Reece Brown

Carl Reece Brown, 82 of Laurinburg, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Morrison Manor.

A graveside service with full Military Honors will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, N.C., officiated by Lay Reader Harold Milligan.

Born December 13, 1935 in Harnett County, he was a son of the late Annie Lee Brock. He retired from the US Navy after serving 24 years, sold real estate and became owner/operator of Carl’s Home Improvement. While living in California he supported his football team of San Francisco’s 49ers, and upon relocating to North Carolina he moved his support to the Panther’s, but still remaining a 49ers fan as well. He enjoyed watching Fox News, eating Apple Fritters or anything sweet, and having a Pepsi fountain drink as often as he could.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Blanchie “Carol” Milligan Brown of the home; daughter, Kim Giotta of Laurinburg; sisters, Willie Mae Brown Walsky of Minnesota and Ann Bursma of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and grandchildren, Franklin Reece Brown and Tabitha Vianca Giotta. He is preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

In the absence of a formal visitation, friends may come by McDougald Funeral Home after 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16th to express their condolences for the Brown Family.

McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium is serving the family.
