Mr. Butris "Pete" Anthony, 91, of 901 West Church Street died Friday, January 16, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 20 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Robert Diegelman officiating.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Anthony, Joseph Anthony, Pete Anthony, Jeffrey Anthony, Joseph Anthony, II, Paul Yucha, Nick Yucha, and John Anthony. The burial at Hillside Cemetery will immediately follow the church service.
Pete Anthony, beloved husband of the late Margaret Zaden Anthony, is survived by his sons, Thomas Anthony of Greenville, NC and Joseph Anthony and wife, Ivy of Durham; three daughters, Mary-Margaret Board and Theresa Anthony, both of Charlotte, Kitty Yucha and husband, Paul of Wimauma, FL; Daughter-in-law, Marguerite Anthony of Greenville, NC; Eight Grandchildren; Two Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Alex Anthony and Marcus Anthony, both of Laurinburg.
Born March 23, 1912, he was the son of the late Khalil and Rachelle Saseen Anthony. He grew up in Laurinburg and married Margaret Zaden in 1937. They owned and operated Margareta
