Mr. Brandon Scott Coble, 35, of 305 Scotland Ave. and formerly of Laurinburg died Sunday, May 23, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

A celebration of his life will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Wagram officiated by the Rev. Joe Dempsey of Spartanburg, SC and the Rev. Dr. L. D. Kimrey of the First Baptist Church, Laurinburg. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham.

Brandon was the son of Dorothy (Dot) Napier Coble of Laurinburg and Alton A. Coble of Kernersville. He was born in Rockingham on February 18, 1969. He grew up in Wagram attending Spring Hill Baptist Church.

He attended the Scotland County Schools, graduating in 1987 at Scotland High School as an Honors Graduate and a North Carolina Scholar. He was a member of the Scotland High School band program and the Fighting Scots Marching Band, where he was a percussion section leader and student volunteer assistant. The band was the love of his high school years. Brandon attended St. Andrews Presbyterian College and UNC-Charlotte.

He also loved the outdoors, especially sports such as golf and boating. He was a NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan as well as a Michael Jordan fan. Brandon loved challenging his mind with games of Trivial Pursuit.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister, Toni Ann Coble of Atlanta; his significant other, Dianne Wheeler of Rockingham and her children, Cody, Amy, and Tara Lanier; his step-mother, Shelby Coble of Kernersville; his aunts and uncles, Eddie and Margaret Napier Brown, Billy and Lois Napier, Jimmy and Nancy Napier, Harold Napier, Harold and Priscilla Coble all of Rockingham, Edward and Lois Barnes of Pineville, 12 cousins, step-brothers and step-sisters, and his extended family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents William H. and Gertrude B Napier and Abbie L and Alma Coble and an uncle, Abbie Coble, Jr. all of Rockingham.

The family will be at the home of his mother, Dot Coble, 420 Midland Way, Laurinburg.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium in Laurinburg.
