Billy Ray Perkins, Sr.

Billy Ray Perkins, Sr., 68, of Laurinburg, died Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at his residence.

There will be a funeral service held at Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium Chapel on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 2:00 pm officiated by Pastor Ray Morton.  A visitation will take place from 12:00-2:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.

Born on April 8, 1954 in Scotland County, NC, he was a son of the late Glenn and Annie Mae Chavis Perkins. Billy was a simple man and would give the shirt off of his back. He enjoyed going for car rides, loving on his grandchildren and his pet cat Cheetah.  He particularly liked watching CSI and rides to Fayetteville for Krispy Kreme doughnuts. He is survived by his children, Billy Ray Perkins, Jr. (Faith), of the home, Sean Yahne (Jeanne) of McCormick, SC; brother, Joe Perkins (Laura) of Ft. Pierce, FL; sisters, Betty Fore of Laurinburg, Lena Gregory (Jessie) of Sebastian, FL; grandchildren, Colbi Perkins, J.J. Perkins, Konner Perkins, Liam Perkins, and Alaniss Yahne; and six great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Perkins; brother, Wilbert Perkins, and granddaughter, Sierria Yahne.
