Beulah E Jones

August 31, 1919 — December 29, 2016

Mrs. Beulah E. Jones passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on 12/29/16. She was 97 years old.

A memorial service will be held at Cypress Glen Retirement Community on Tuesday at 2 pm in the Brown Chapel. After the service, family will receive guests at a reception held at Cypress Glen. A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 2 pm at Hillside Cemetery in Laurinburg.

Beulah was the daughter of Luby and Mary Pearson Edwards and was born and raised in Wayne County. She lived most of her adult life in Laurinburg and Greenville, NC. Beulah was married to Egbert Randall (ER) Jones until his untimely death in 1975. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Annabelle Wells, Clara Shands, Ruth Edwards, Luby Edwards, Charles Edwards and by her daughter Gloria Jones.

Beulah was a homemaker most of her life and moved to Greenville to be near family in 1989. We were so blessed to have her close to us for so many years.

Dolls were a passion for Beulah and she enjoyed sharing her many dolls with anyone who stopped in to visit with her. She was especially proud of the doll she has kept since she was 8 years old. In her 70s and 80s she traveled extensively around the world with her daughter Gloria.

For the past 10 years Beulah has lived at Cypress Glen Retirement Community where she enjoyed being around both the residents and the staff. Her family would like to express how much the Cypress Glen staff meant to her and her family. The staff was so caring and loving from the time she moved in until her passing.

Beulah is survived by her sons, Tony R. Jones and wife, Mary Sue of Charlotte, and Stephen E. Jones and wife Julie Jones of Greenville. She is also survived by granddaughters Michelle and Angela, grandson Benton, great-grandsons Jackson and Jordan, and great-granddaughters Kala and Allyson, and by son-in law Jim Inlow of Beaufort SC. Her two special friends in her later years were Debbie and Edith.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.
