Betty (Bornmann) Steinemann, age 88, a long time resident of Westchester County, NY, passed away on April 10, 2011 in Laurinburg, NC.
A memorial service will be held May 14th at 2pm at Scotia Village in Laurinburg, NC.
She was born October 28, 1922 to Adelaide and Carl F. Bornmann in Brooklyn, NY. Betty was the beloved wife of Walter Steinemann, also of Laurinburg, NC. Betty is also survived by a sister, Leidy Bornmann of Cronulla, Austl; nephew, Bill Bornmann (Julia) of Bronxville, NY; and niece, Barbara Bornmann of Brooklyn, NY. She also leaves behind four stepchildren, Maja Bertschinger (Philipp), Beatrice Biedermann(Andreas), Doris Hoehn(Peter), Thomas Steinemann(Lucia) and nine loving grandchildren.
Betty attended Bucknell University and the Pratt Institute School of Art and Architecture in Brooklyn, NY, where she graduated with a degree in architecture. Betty enjoyed her career in architecture and loved traveling, golf, curling and spending time with family and friends. Betty was also a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She will be remembered for her warm personality and sweet smile.
