Betty Thames McInnis, 91, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at her home.
A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017 at First Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Wayne Wike. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Wagram.
Born June 25, 1925 in Scotland County, she was the daughter of the late Archie David and Willie Bertha Hodges Thames. She was a lifelong resident of Scotland County. Betty attended Flora McDonald Academy and worked for the Surgical Clinic, McNair’s Department Store and retired with Wachovia Bank. She loved music and played the piano at many churches and events.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Jo McInnis of Laurinburg; son, Samuel “Mac” McInnis Jr. of the home; daughter-in-law, Barbara Barnas of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Aaron D. Spry, E. Paige McInnis, J. Austin McInnis, E. Tyler Dennis, Sarah Holloway and John Holloway. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and animal friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sam McInnis and her twin brother, Robert Thames.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017 at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
