Betty Ludwig, 69, died Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg, NC.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31st at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium Chapel officiated by the Rev. Andy Stewart.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Shumate of the home; two sons, Wayne Ludwig (Shannon) of Virginia, James Ludwig Jr. (Debbie) of Pennsylvania; three daughters, Marlene Grier (David) of Bennettsville, S.C., Cindy Lowe (Allen) of San Antonio, Texas, and Lee Ann Erbschlow (Tommy) of Blenheim, S.C.; two sisters, Joyce Spivey of Charlotte, N.C. and Rhonda Dowdy of Texas; five grandchildren, Kelly Day, John Price, Kristan Ryan, Bridgette Stubbs and Angela Baskins; and six great grandchildren.
Born January 20, 1944 in Aynor, S.C, she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Eva Shoemake Spivey. She was very artistic, adventurous and loved to travel. Flowers and gardening were always a part of her life. She will be remembered for her love, kindness and source of comfort she extended to everyone.
