Betty S. Hackler was born July 10, 1939, in Scotland County to the late Grover Small and Novella Sanders Small. She went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 18, 2022, at the age of 82.
Services will be private.
Betty was the fifth of ten children and the first girl, after four boys. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She worked for Waverly Mills, K-Mart and Scotia Village during her life. Betty loved the outdoors, gardening and yardwork and going to yard sales.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Claude Dilling and Harold Hackler; her son, Gary Dilling; daughter, Christi Madden; grandson, Eric Watts; and her six brothers, Allester Small, Franklin Small, James Dozier Small, James Howard Small, Grover Small, Jr., and William J. Small.
Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Wendell Dilling, Alan Dilling (Gail), Marty Hackler (Shannon), Anna Lorie Madden, Anna Lee Sessoms, Carman Watts; her sisters, Lila Craven, Linda Kingston, and Faye Norton (Ronald); sisters-in-law, Margaret Small and Patricia Small; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Bumgarner Family Funeral Service and Crematorium is assisting the family.
