Betty Turner Dunn

Betty Turner Dunn, 64 of Mt. Gilead, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center in Concord.

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2018 at First Baptist Church Chapel, Troy, officiated by Rev. Tom Mauldin. Burial will follow the service at Calvary Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the church prior to the service.

Born July 26, 1954 in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late James Loyd and Mary Mauldin Turner. She worked in the textile industry.  Betty loved to sew, listening to bluegrass music, genealogy and yard sales.  She especially loved her grandbabies.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Carl Lee Dunn of Albemarle; a daughter, Tammy Dunn of Kannapolis; a son, Carl Lee Dunn, Jr. of Thickety Creek; two sisters, Geraldine T. Craven of Troy and Helen T. Reeves of Hampton, VA; a brother, Billy J. Turner of Peachland; and three grandchildren.

McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium is serving the family.
