Bert Stanley Bostic, 83, died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at his home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Ray Sutherland. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Gay Waters Bostic; his sons, Wallace Bostic of Laurinburg and David Bostic (Linda) of Morrisville; his daughters, Karen Ramsey (Rod) of Nashville, NC, Beth James of Laurinburg, and Sandra Brown (Scott) of Cary; his sisters, Ruby Silvers of Ellenboro and Lorelei Hightower of Spartanburg, SC; 3 grandchildren, Roxanne Brown, Alex Brown, Sara Ramsey Smith (BJ); and 1 great grandchild, Jessie Elizabeth Smith.
Born January 7, 1931 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Leonard and Ethel Vogt Bostic. He later served with the US Navy from 1948-1952 before starting with Southern Bell and retiring with AT&T as a supervisor.
Bert was a Mason and Shriner and loved traveling on bus tours, golf, and ACC basketball.
Memorials are requested for the First Baptist Church, PO Box 883, Laurinburg, NC 28353 or Hospice of Scotland County, PO Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. Saturday in the church fellowship hall.
