Bernice Bowlin Barrington, 73, of Barrington Road passed Monday, August 19, 2013.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Boykin United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery, Gibson.
She is survived by her husband, John Arlen Barrington; her sons, Greg Leonard (Kim) of Bennettsville and John A. Barrington, Jr. (Dana) of Texas; her daughters, Janice Cole (Ronnie) of Laurinburg, Diane Boulward (James) of Huntsville, AL, and Belinda McLaughlin (Vinnie) of Apex; her sisters, Elsie Price, Edna Shockley, Annette Newman, and Bessy Dodson of Morristown, TN; Shirley Morgan of Hendersonville, and Daisy Alley of Dayton, OH; her sister-in-law, Edna Bowlin of Hendersonville; 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her six brothers, Clay, Coy, Conley, George, Merlin, and Lewis.
Born Aug. 27, 1939 in Hancock County, TN, she was a daughter of the late James and Della Hensley Bowlin. An active member of Boykin United Methodist Church, Bernice also formerly served with the Laurinburg Presbyterian Church Day Care, Abbott Labs, and Miller Properties. Her love of children and hummingbirds were always a large part of her life.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium, Laurinburg.
