Benjamin Mack Buie

Benjamin Mack Buie passed away unexpectedly on March 24, 2023 at the age of 39.

Our family was not expecting Mack's life to be cut short so soon and are all devastated by his passing. He will be forever missed and always fondly remembered for his kind soul, big heart and especially his love for his family.

Mack was born on February 24, 1984 in Laurinburg, NC, the youngest son of Ben and Kaye Buie. He was welcomed by his parents, brother Parks and sister Susan into a loving home and a family filled with faith and a solid foundation of family values and respect.

He was raised in the church and was a member of Saint Luke United Methodist Church in Laurinburg, NC where he was an active participant in the Youth Group. Mack attended and graduated from Scotland High School in Laurinburg where he also played football and baseball. After graduation, he chose East Carolina University in Greenville, NC to pursue his college education. There he earned his degree in Construction Management.

He was smart at work and at play and could do a lot of things well. Always dressing country casual, he'd jump in his jeep and ride with the motor and the music rocking him down the road. He loved to play his guitars and many learned too late to never challenge him in Guitar Hero. These were joys that he would share with his two loving boys later in life.

One Summer on a trip to Santee, SC, Mack met Lauren Spence and and a friendship was sparked that years later would burn so brightly with love and respect for each other that it set the stage for their marriage on May 18, 2019. Lauren always said that she was doubly blessed by their marriage by the presence of Mack's son, Langston in her life. Mack and Lauren would welcome another son, Adam Spence Buie into the family on December 13, 2020.

Lauren, Langston and Adam were the highlight of Mack's life. When it came to those boys he was full of fatherly pride. But, there was an extraordinary bond between Langston and his Dad. From jeep rides to baseball, bonfires to building forts, playing Guitar Hero or snuggling up for movie nights...they were inseparable. Every Father and Son should experience that depth of love.

Mack is survived by his wife, Lauren Spence Buie, his two sons, Langston Mack Buie and Adam Spence Buie of Clayton, NC; his father and mother, Ben and Kaye Buie of Laurinburg, NC; his brother, Parks Buie (Mary Beth) of Apex, NC; his sister, Susan Johnson (Scott) of Laurinburg, NC; his nephew, Buie Johnson; his nieces, Taylor Johnson, Paige Buie and Lena Buie. He is also survived by beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
